Anakim Update

Here is the current progress on this guy. The serpent is supposed to be a stone hydra of sorts, so I'll have to work on that.

Behemoth.

My new Wacom tablet came in and it's a monster. I could sled on the bastard. Check out the side by side shot of big brother and little brother. Crazy.

I'm going to post progress shots as I render out the latest Conquest of the Nephilim concept. This is stage one- 15 minutes worth of sketching, 15 minutes worth of digital paint splatter.

Conquest of the Nephilim

Sunday, July 6, 2008

I've been putting the pencil to paper like mad as of late.

Now that I've decided upon a storyline for my concept art portfolio, I had to leave digital painting behind for a bit. Photoshop allows for infinite refinement and I need to concentrate on ideas instead of details, so it's back to the ol' sketchbook. I did render this guy up, though. This is the first official painting for my impending venture, Conquest of the Nephilim.

It isn't finished, but getting close.

Nomad (not Wiley).

I'm trying to get over my fear of color by wielding dual brushes, running at it with a banshee scream and stabbing away until the canvas is a mess. Not always successful, but definitely fun. Today I tried a triadic color scheme after getting humbled repeatedly, as per usual, by the great Jon Foster. What a blast.
